SENTENCE-BASED WRITING 2

I am studying in Semarang State University now. Here, I take English Department as my major. I am really glad of being a part of it. There are some lessons on it, especially in second semester. They are Sentenced Based Writing, Interpersonal and Transactional Conversation, Pronounciation Practice, Grammar, Elementary Reading Comprehension, Introduction to Literary Studies, Phonetic and so on. I like  Interpersonal and Transactional Conversation and Pronounciation Practice lessons, because both of them practise me to speak fluently in English. I am really hard when I study about Sentenced Based Writing and Grammar lessons because they learn about structure and how to produce good sentences. In Sentenced Based Writing I learn about how to make a cohesive and coherent sentences. Although it is hard, but I try to make it well.

MAKE SIX PARAGRAPH

1ST PARAGRAPH

          I like traveling. I have a dream someday I could go abroad with my family. I want to spend my time by enjoying my life. There are some places that I really want to visit ; for example, a place that is one of the most famous landmarks in the USA. It is the statue of the liberty which is a very good example of nineteenth-century engineering ; moreover, the structure was designed by the French engineer, Gustave Eiffel. It is a gift to USA from the people of France. It was built in 1886, and it stands 93 metres high. The most interesting thing is that the outside is made of copper. Thus, this is the reason why I really want to go there. I will take some pictures and show it to my friends. It will be an exciting experience.

2ND PARAGRAPH

          I am getting bored today. I have nothing to do. Neither my classmate, Ivanka nor I concern to the lesson. My friends are getting busy with their own activities. Rini and Rere are chitchatting by the door, John is reading his book, Dony is flattering Angely on the class corner, but Dito is sleeping on his desk. I am still musing about my family. My parents go to Puncak for their vacation ; my brothers go to Bali ; I do not go anywhere. Because there is a mid-test on this week, I have to keep my home silently. Every student should study about material, unless they will not get a good mark. I can not join my families vacation until I finish my examination, but it is never mind. It is my own responsibility.

3RD PARAGRAPH

          Batik is one of culture in Indonesia. The day of Batik Celebration is Pekalongan’s best-known Festival Batik. It takes place on 2nd October. On this day everyone in Indonesia especially for Pekalongan society should use batik. Before the Festival, people decorate their school with batik to be the best one. On the dat itself, Batik Museum is opened, and many tourist visit it. They can practice to make batik. The festivities in Pekalongan region are the most famous, especially those on the ‘Pekalongan Center’. There are traditional dances and parade of Batik-decorated in the evening. It is thought that this tradition originated by Pekalongan society. It involves the story of Pekalongan too.

4TH PARAGRAPH

          On the last February, there was a camping on my Senior High School. It was hold on 22nd February to celebrate Bodden Powel Day. Bodden Powel is founder of Pramuka Organization. There were so many activities there, so I had to prepare it well. It took three days. The camping was located in Kopeng, Salatiga ; therefore, it was very cool and hard to get the market. It need public transportation to catch it. After we arrived there, we took a rest for a while. Then, some of the campers went into the woods to find dry tree branches for cooking, and the others built a tents. It was the best experienc that I have ever passed.

5TH PARAGRAPH

          Yesterday it was a tiring day. Because I did not go to school last week, I did not know that there would be an exam. I was studying English when my friend, Jane came. I asked for her to tell me about grammar, because I did not understand about it. Beside we had to study grammar, we also had to know the structure. When my father arrived from Jakarta, he bought grammar book which was a hundred pages long. The next day, I did the exam, I tried to do it well, but when I hand my exam in, I forgot to give the teacher the last page. The teacher returned mine after he noticed me. It was so embarassing moment.

6TH PARAGRAPH

          Arinda is a strong girl. She always keeps struggling and fighting to reach her dream ; however, her parents do not have any money. She is never tired to learn and study more and more because she does not want her parents disapoint of her. Fortunately, she gets high score on her final examination ; as aresult, she gets a scholarship to go to Semarang State University. In this university, she has to do conversation that the college adviser recommends. It is not only about environment, but also the moral of every student. For example ; we have to keep our environment clean and have a good attitude. She wishes in this university she can do her best for her parents and family.
